  1. Can I combine more than one component in the implementation of my solution?

Yes, you can use more than one open source software component in your proposal and project.

The following is the excerpt taken from the competition website:

Project Implementation:
"3.5. Any APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) used must be non-proprietary and not belong to any commercial product"

The usage of supporting open source software should however be clearly defined in the proposal.

  1. I am interested in participating in your open source competition. Can I use the following combination:
  • Language : PHP
  • Web server : Apache
  • Database : MySQL

Participants are free to make use of any open source software in the competition. The combination of open source software mentioned above is acceptable but by no means exhaustive.

The following is an excerpt taken from competition's official website:

Project Implementation:
Participants should make use of open source software
(either ready made or created by the participant), to produce a workable solution.

The usage of such supporting open source software should be clearly stated in the proposal.

  1. Must the proposed solution be a web-based application?

No, we accept any type of project, and do not limit our scope to web-based applications. Please refer to the scope of the proposal in the competition's website for more information.

  1. Can I enter the competition as an individual rather than as part of a team?

Teams may consist of one or more participants; therefore, it is certainly acceptable to enter an individual project.
